Updating Content

May 13, 2016

In this day and age, an online presence is not enough. Over and over reports are saying that “content is king” when it comes to search engine rankings. The success of your website is largely associated with the content you deliver. Your target audience needs to find what they’re looking for, when they need it.

Therefore, content management tools built into your website will give you the ability to make updates as needed; maintaining fresh, relevant content your audience needs to make more informed decisions about purchasing your products or services.

Updating your content isn’t just about writing new blog posts. While blogging is a great way to generate new content, there are other ways to update your website.

Blog Posts

Blogs are a great way to create content and help with SEO. If you think you have no blog topics, think again. The blog page is a great place to showcase company milestones, share your best work, and share new information relevant to your field. If you’re changing up services or products, write a blog post about it. Just be sure to blog on a regular basis so your site will be indexed consistently.

Client Testimonials

If you’re staying busy, you might want to ask clients for testimonials to include on your website. Take time once a month to add any testimonials to your website. This helps keep content fresh and also shows potential customers that you’re trustworthy, you do great work, etc.

Social Media

Social Media is a great way to meet and connect with your customers. It’s also a great way to share your newly updated content. Don’t shy away from posting links to your current blog posts on Facebook and Twitter. People can share these links with their friends and followers, which helps bring new business to you.

No matter how you choose to update content, just be sure you’re doing it on a regular basis. This helps with your search engine rankings and keeps search engines coming back to index your site.
